Feeling Good & Grounded: Introducing My Friend Ali

Feeling Good & Grounded: Introducing My Friend Ali

What can I say about my friend Ali?

She’s super grounded. She always seems calm and in control.

She’s attractive. Non in a manufactured way. Like my friend Des, she just always seems to look well.

She has a core belief that life is for living. And that it’s not to be taken too seriously.

*

Awareness:

Yeah, like Ali has great awareness. Not in a she’s-got-a-Mr-Miyagi-like-sixth-sense kind of way. More like she’s learned that it’s helpful to be in tune with her thoughts, feelings and breath.

So she’s built regular practices into her routine to help her to stay true to that.

Sometimes her practice is not as regular as she’d like.

She’s ok with that.

*

Laughter:

Ali prefers a day that has a laughter. Not in a I-need-a-‘my-sides-are-splitting-moment’-every-10-minutes kind of way. More like she’s realised over time that her workdays and weekends are better when she’s had a chance to have a laugh.

And so she tries to stay true to that.

Yes, there are some days that turn out to be more serious than she’d like.

She’s ok with that.

*

Inspired:

Ali comes across as an inspired person. Not in a she’s-definitely-on-some-sort-of-a-mission-to-take-over-the-world kind of a way. More like, she’s got a good picture of what she wants from life. She’s excited and motivated by this picture.

And so she tries to stay true to that.

Yes, there’s times when doubts and uncertainty arise about the picture.

She’s ok with that.

I really admire Ali. If I were to sum her up in three words I would say; Awareness, Laughter and Inspired.

*

Our friendship is simple. If I look after Ali, Ali looks out for me.

If I don’t stay in touch with Ali, she doesn’t have my back in the same way. Sometimes I can get stressed and bogged down by life because of this.

I can’t blame Ali for this. How can I blame Ali for anything?

Do you know Ali? I think you should. Let me know if you’d like an introduction.
